Post Christmas

Yes it's now post-Christmas that's so weird...so here's the 411,

there's a baby that is now 14 days overdue...and no sign of the little fella or girl this side of 2008.

I've had a delightful Christmas, catching up with the folks,

watching plenty of Strictly Come Dancing, and little else. there's so much on...and i didn't really see any, how odd.

my friend's hand got caught in a door the other night, and she had to go to Casualty...which is not cool at all. but she's ok.

Back to normality soon....boooo!

saw plenty of old faces.

I got gorgeous presents...:):):):)

i'm going to a black and white New years (semi formal apparently) party!

anywho...all's good...and i'm looking forward to...

a table quiz
dan le sac vs scroobius pip
barcelona...if possible...
bruce springsteen and plenty more...

happy new year

Plus Wiki.

There's a picture of

The Cloverfield monster here. Either this will make sense to you or not.

Seeing as I bought a crimper the other day, I started thinking about the 80s, and how much do i want this? *drools slightly* I've been a good girl Santa, honest.

Napoleon Dynamite as cartoon bunnies. Weird.

Trippy pic:

Em...weird article here about the deer that grew into a whale. Sort of.

Stream Robert Plant & Alison Krauss' new album here along with a few more.

Ewan McGregor hearts Jim Carrey forever.

In honour of Sinead. some Coen Brothers:

Not sure if this will work

I think the Times

just tries to be as fiendish as possible. They have a load of Christmassy quizes around the site at teh moment (i'm on a serious Christmas buzz). Anyway like that quiz in the Ticket...ggrrr, these are a bit hard..

but not too much...
Anyway:
1 Each letter A, D, I, M, N, O stands for a different digit. What is the value of each to make all of the following equations true? MOM x D = DAD; DAD x A = MIND; D + A + D = 10; M + I + N + D = 15; M + O + M = 5.

2 Fill in the blanks surrounding the letters ICED according to the clues: _ _ I_CED clearly indicated; I_CE_D_ _ _ _ Fiery; _ _ _ICED Joined two tapes; _ _ _ _I_CED Made a believer of; _I_CED Finely Chopped; _ _IC_E_ _ D Ratcheted up; _ _I_C_ED Exchanged.

3 Name these Christmas carols, following the pattern for the first two. The clues are the first letters of the words in the titles of the songs.

1. SCICTT Santa Claus Is Coming To Town. 2. ISMKSC I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus. 3. JB. 4. IDOAWC. 5. RTRNR. 6. CROAOF. 7. DYHWIH?

8. AIAM. 9. FTS. 10. OCAYF. 11. ICUAMC. 12. OLTOB. 13. JTTW. 14. SN. 15. LIS. 16. WCIT? 17. TTDOC. 18. GRYMG. 19. HTHAS. 20. WWYAMC.

4 These lines are from which Christmas movies or shows? 1. "Bumbles Bounce?" 2. "When a bell rings an angel gets its wings." 3. "You'll shoot your eye out, kid." 4. "I forged these chains during my life." 5. "They're not twinkling, Clark."

5 Anagrams: Unscramble these Christmas carols 1. Lets thin gin. 2. Jill lens beg. 3. Again wean army. 4. Flee this torn. 5. Oilcloth jolly sands. 6. Fatter hymns swoon.

6 What do these four words have in common? Worth; Fast; Zest; Mouth.

More here.

I'm so going to this

I posted about Lovebox before. I had a brilliant super fun time there earlier this year. And i've just heard the Flaming Lips who i love are playing in London in July, as part of new Lovebox. Woo.

Batman Returns
Die Hard (YES!)
Trading Places
Gremlins
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
Edward Scissorhands
Lethal Weapon
The Proposition
Babe
Love Actually

That's the top ten, i'd have to add in the Sound of Music, i mean come on.

ohmyGodohmyGod

Via Boingboing, this is fairly interesting.

It's the Beatnix, messing with technology and all, and recreating Stairway to Heaven, can't really talk, just mouth open.

He's been before and told me about it, and i've always expressed an interest in it, i like gadgets and stuff! and i'm pretty sure i asked before to go!!!! and i def like this stuff more than at least one of the boys. So i was like oh, and you're bringing the boys!? well that's fine...so i didn't even figure in the plans!

NOt for me obviously. But there's a new baby on the way in the family! Names that i've heard so far include: Gabriel (Christmas + Sylar) and Moby (Joke)

That's it really, that baby naming lark is tough.

The world's craziest dictators ...i don't think there'll be baby naming advice sought here.
Turkmenistan gets:
The New president also renamed the months. January is now called... Turkmenbashi. April is called Gurbansoltan edzhe, after his mother. (Bread, once called chorek, is now also called gurbansoltan edzhe.)
In April 2004 he ordered the building of a giant ice palace in the middle of the desert, the Karakum – the hottest location in central Asia. It would also include a zoo with penguins.

and
In October 2006 Turkmenistan claimed to have set free 10,056 prisoners, including 253 foreign nationals from 11 countries on the Night of Omnipotence. Niyazov said, "Let this humane act on the part of the state serve strengthening truly moral values of the Turkmen society. Let the entire world know that there has never been a place for evil and violence on the blessed Turkmen soil."
Car radios, lip-synching, and recorded music are all prohibited.
Video monitors are required in all public places.
Dogs are restricted from the capital city due to unappealing odour.

In other news:
There are some really really really weird animals
here.

No mention of the Echidna though :/

This is quite a fun site about a dancing pipe-cleaner.

That Messiah J and The Expert Song, is possibly the coolest tune ever.

Emm.... for sale?

Alan Rickman's in Sweeney Todd. Woohoo! Some Sweeney Todd here. Very exciting!

Dan Aykroyd has been in many films, and he hosts his own Blues radio programme in the States, but as Elwood! It's really good, i heard it when i was over there...:P More here.

Cary Elwes isn't doing so well since The Princess Bride.

A couple called George and Gertrude Greaves lived in my house a while back. All their doors and windows were green apparently.

To be fair this i can't imagine what this is like...
Fully seated show for the 10th anniversary tour of China’s original Kung Fu Masters. a show jam-packed with incredible feats of strength and skill, which will delight the whole family.

In a crescendo of kung-fu sequences, the Shaolin Monks are lifted aloft on sharpened spears, splinter wooden blocks with their bare hands, break bricks on their heads and fly through the air in a series of incredible backflips and spins.

and finally, have my Christmas lights up, they are fancy this year. Woohoo!

Talking Cats, oh mega lol-osaurus

Via Pedro

Also i learned something about Eyebrows yesterday. Apparently they show loads of your personality off...that's why coppers wear hats that cover them, so they look more authoritative. I did not know that before. I wonder what those women who pluck all theirs off are like. Maybe i'll never know.

It's Christmas time which makes me think of this: The River Cottage Multibird Roast
Ingredients:

You need a whole free range turkey (not a monster, 10-12 kilos is about right) and a whole goose (6-7kg). And then a selection of 8-10 smaller birds, all plucked and drawn (ie oven ready).

You don’t need all eight birds to be different – you could use, say, three pheasants and five pigeons. So choose from the following:
farmed duck
mallard
guinea fowl
chicken
pheasant
partridge
pigeon
woodcock.

NOTE: Please DO NOT use very high or well-hung game birds, as they will contaminate the subtle flavours of the other birds.
For the stuffing, you need 1 kilo of fatty sausagemeat, 250g streaky bacon, 100g breadcrumbs, fresh sage, brandy, port and red wine. You can also add chestnuts and/or apples.
You also need some good butcher’s string and a darning needle.

It makes me want to be a bit sick...

Here is a glossary of Literary Criticism. It makes me feel a bit clever.

And just for the fun:

and I love John Legend (i wanted Used to Love U, but that embedding dealy was disabled!)

Zac Effron in Footloose remake scandal... From cinematical

Justice/Weekend/Stuff

Ok let's start at the beginning. I was in America recently...Have i mentioned this already? :P

I got one of these Flip lads, isn't it dinky! I went to Mystic Aquarium in the States, with Seal Lions! they also had baluga whales, sea anenomes, sharks, penguins and all sorts of creepy crawlie types... this is all i got though, cos i hadn't figured out how to use it!

1,2,3 AAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWW!

So i brought my new toy to Justice, who were deadly on Saturday night, actually this weekend, was literally the best ever!

There's one: from the gig

and a longer one:

Rick has the stupidest girl alive on his site. Shudder.

In other news Matt the Jap is gone but not forgotten.

A few people have been talking about it, IHeartAU is mighty, the forum is good fun too.

Can't wait for this film The Nines.

America are annoyed by the international stuff on the internet.

I love Gram Parsons.

Banksy's got a Santa's Ghetto!

Dove Vs Internet Guerillas. Dove ads are done by those lads who make the Lynx ads and all the rest of it, talk about mixed messages.
This has that Dove ad, with bits of Axe (Lynx in the US) spliced into it.
