Valentine's Day
Firstly gotta say super happy birthday to my lovely friend the penguin. She floats my boat, and rocks my world. :):)
Now:
I had a different post, but i changed my mind, and now I'm thinking of:
Marvyn Gaye, Stax, Motown, Hearts, Ruffles, Cake, Cards, Fluff, Flowers, Air, Al Green, Sigur Ros,
Now this is absolutely reflective of my age/stupid brain but...
oh and call me lame but:
And i know Scott is Gay but:
And my absolute favourite.
Now, in other stuff: It's time to start preparing now i reckon.

I had a dream of Aoife and Niall, amongst others.
I had a dream last night, a really detailed one about the blog awards, I'm not saying everything, cos, well i think it would be too weird to describe all of it.
But they (the awards) were on in a big huge mad warehouse, it was really cold and i was up in a balcony which was about a mile up, but obviously i could still see everything. There were a load of people milling around everywhere, but it wasn't too crowded.
Damien Mulley was hiding HIDING behind a chair for the whole thing, there were plenty of others milling around, bearing in mind i haven't met every blogger going, but they were all there.
But my dream really focused on Nialler9 and Aoife. I hope i'm not gonna freak anyone out here, but ye guys won a few awards, especially Aoife. I can't remember which but just that ye did... so well done!

Honk if you hate scientology
So there's been plenty of talk about Anonymous v Scientology. There's talk of the London one here. It seemed a bit half arsed to me.
As the protest moved down across the road from the actual Scientology headquarters, it seemed like the group were daring each other to stand near the door of the place...
I was there a bit later, so there were maybe a lot more people earlier on in the day. Hmm...
I actually much prefer this one: :)

I only found Le Catch's one the other day, cos for some reason my spam filter thought that it was... err.. spam! I like it though, v reflective of le Catch. :)

No Country for Old Men
Saw this film, got super freaked out by Javier Bardem ( i hope that's spelt right). Anywho brilliant movie, really very very good. A thoroughly thrilling thriller. Hello i'm a walking cliche by the way.

Chabal
Ok so, Ireland are playing France at the weekend, this means (possibly, I'm not sure if he'll actually be playing) but it means that Chabal might be playing. See I'm becoming, nay have already become slightly obsessed with Chabal.
I've already talked about him here and here.
Now i'm a disaster, the match was on the other day, and i walked into a room, where the television was surrounded by about 15 people, and asked what's on, football match is it? to much sighing and frowning. But this is different.
Anywho...I've found myself staring at rugby matches he is in, and i found the last time there was a big rugby thing on, probably the last time Ireland did rubbish, grey jersey's blah blah, i just ended up staring at the screen, and relentlessly bringing him up in conversation.
It's getting a bit weird.
He's just so interesting*... is that the word. It is now.
*I was going to write alluring but thought it would be weird.

Weekend and stuff
It's the weekend, a child has been christened, Raptureponies drank too much, what is new! We also had some delightful fun with wigs, and the word strog!
Anywho Lost is back tonight, or so i hear. I've pretty much lost interest in Lost. After defending it against Prison Break (too unrealistic) i have finally changed my tune. It's just a bit.. oh here we are again, with no answers and no end in sight. I'll probably still end up watching it, and then be annoyed with myself for watching it, because it's so annoying. I wish i had a quiz to go to.
Which i do tomorrow night... If you bring in some cds you can get in for free. And it will be worth it to see a great man at work. It's for Oxfam, i've been to a few of the other ones, mucho fun!
Songza is a pretty deadly site, that plays tunes. It's kind of like musicovery, but different. It has pretty much everything i've searched for so far, so pleased about that. In fact they are good in their own special ways.
All those facebook pokings, you never really understood, have no fear, the urban dictionary is here.

Cloverfield
Ok, first things first, Do not go see this on an empty stomach. Went to see Cloverfield last night anywho, it's JJ Abrams deally, he of Lost, Alias and now Star Trek (*hyperventilates*) fame!
Ricko was doing the intro, sounds like i'm trying to start rapping, and a fine job he did of it too. I also saw some people i haven't seen in aaaggeessss, but i'm not going to start talking about that right now. My friends Mags and Blinky also came. Blinky is leaving the country on Tuesday for nine months, a suspicous amount of time if you ask me. Anywho i'm going to miss her. She shouldn't go.
Me and Mags are going to drown are sorrows in table quiz drunk-ness next Tuesday after she goes. (i'm still trying to convince her not to go, and that hiding in a house in finglas, and researching trips abroad is a bad idea.)
*Cries a tear*
Anyway i'll post about that again later... BACK TO THE FILM (Batman).
It was on in the UGC, on Parnell street, and it even included a teaser trailer for the new Star Trek (under construction.) I hadn't seen any of the other trailers, so i was very excited about this, it looks flippinmaddeadly!
NOTE: i'm not in for spoilers so this is safe for anyone who's going to see it.
The film is brilliant. It's really, really very good. There were many moments of hiding behind faces, and yelps and squeezing hands cos of scaredy-ness.
It starts out at a party, and it's all filmed in shaky handheld camera stylee. I wasn't sure if i was going to be able to stick it out. The handheld camera-ness gets very ...weird after a while. But just as you think you can't really cope with the shaky-ness it all kicks off. And you can't go anywhere.
It's a very clever film masking as something a bit dumbed down IMO. the actors, all unknowns (to me anyway) are really good, and the effects and everything are excellent. I think it all hinges on the shaky-ness, you feel like you are really in there or something.
I came out with the feeling of JJ Abrams crawling into my brain and beating me up from the inside out. I was also very dizzy what with the motion sickness-ness and the like. I had to go have dinner after, to settle my stomach... it was like i was a kid again, and was feeling carsick :/
Ok this has become a very rambling post, and i don't think i'm that good a movie reviewer, because i always miss the point!
