Stax Records

I got this double CD for my birthday a few months ago. It's deadly. Literally (not literally). But it is really good, Stax had this amazing converted studio with a slanty floor and all sorts, and was home to Isaac Hayes, Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett. It's proper soul and sounds amazing.

Anywho on the course of cruising around the interweb found this cool site about the Stax Museum. I wanna go!

Hi Rapture Ponies!

Tim here from the Stax Museum. Glad you came upon the site and by all means come visit! It's a big, 17,000 square foot museum at the original site of Stax Records with thousands of exhibits, photos, films, videos, audio tracks, stage costumes, a lot of the original instruments used to record the Stax hits, all of the LPs and singles on display - even Isaac Hayes' 1972 peacock-blue, gold-trimmed Cadillac! It's a fun, awesome museum and next door we have the Stax Music Academy for primarily at-risk, urban kids. It's a real trip so come see us. If you're in Memphis, come tonight (Monday, Oct. 29th) because EDDIE FLOYD is playing live at 7 p.m. in the recreation of the famous Stax Recording Studio A.
